Tereos and Futerro have paired up to develop, in Normandy, a circular and sustainable bio-industrial platform, committed to green chemistry.
The aim is to extract dextrose from sustainably-produced French wheat, before then transforming it, in the same geographical region, into bio-sourced, industrially compostable, and recyclable plastic. It’s in the industrial-port area of Port-Jérôme-Sur-Seine (76) that this unique initiative is set to begin in 2027.
Plant-based chemistry, renewability, decarbonization, innovation in maximizing agricultural value… this partnership represents a big step towards the bio-industrial world of the future.

Squadra Avocats has advised OVOL USA (GOULD PAPER CORPORATION), a world leader in the supply of paper and paper pulp, in its acquisition, via OVOL HOLDINGS FRANCE, of a majority stake in EFP-CHAVASSIEU, a leading paper distributor in France and Europe. This strategic transaction strengthens OVOL’s presence in the French and Western European markets.
MKH, the longstanding shareholder, will retain a minority stake.
The Squadra Avocats team involved Charles Morel and François Lan (partners) and Clément Salaün (associate) on the corporate matters, and Morgane Mondolfo (partner) on the employment law aspects.

NULLOur restructuring (Charles Morel and Emilie Rosier) and corporate (Camille Mirabel-Chambaud) teams advised the Polish group FA KROSNO (the European leader in gas spring production) in its takeover of DEFTA AIRAX, a subsidiary of the Defta Group (one of France’s leading automotive equipment manufacturers).
This sale will help to preserve strategic industrial activity for European automotive manufacturers and retain as many jobs as possible in the Besançon area.
FA KROSNO was also assisted by Ascagne (Aurélien Morel), and by RSR Conseil (Raphael de Saint Romain) on the strategic and financial aspects of the deal.
NULLEstablished in 2013, Cartol specialises in the design and production of bodywork and sheet metal parts. It is based in part of the Cerizay premises previously occupied by Heuliez SAS. Cartol, which is considered a strategic company by the General Directorate of Armaments, has faced various difficulties that have forced it to request the opening of a receivership procedure. After an observation period of several months, a sale plan with provisions preserve most of the jobs and activity on-site was declared by the Commercial Court of Niort in its judgement of 13 April 2023.
