In short. Squadra Avocats processes personal data as part of its work. This page explains, plainly, which data, why, and what you can do about it. The essentials: we use your data only to carry out our profession and meet our obligations, we do not exploit it for commercial purposes, and this website does not track you.
1. Who we are
SQUADRA AVOCATS (SELARL), 52 rue d'Anjou, 75008 Paris. For any question about your data: contact@squadra-avocats.com. This policy applies to all our processing, unless we give you specific information for a particular case.
2. Who is concerned
Whether you are a client, a prospect, a job applicant, a party or participant in a matter, a supplier, or simply a visitor to this site, this policy concerns you.
3. What data, and where it comes from
We collect the data you provide directly (identity, contact details, professional information, elements of your matter, job application). In the course of our matters, we also receive data by other means: your contacts, the parties, their counsel, public sources, registers or courts. A case file may, by nature, contain sensitive data or data relating to offences.
4. What we do with it
We use this data to: provide our legal services and manage matters; manage the client relationship and billing; meet our legal and professional obligations (anti-money-laundering, conflict-of-interest checks, accounting); communicate, share our publications and organise our events; review job applications; manage our suppliers; run and secure this website.
5. What we rely on
Depending on the case, our processing is based on the performance of our engagements, compliance with a legal obligation, our legitimate interest in carrying out and developing our activity, or your consent (for example to receive our communications). Where a matter contains sensitive data, its processing is justified by the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.
6. Professional secrecy
Information relating to your matters is covered by lawyers' professional secrecy. This is a strong protection, in addition to data-protection rules.
7. Who we share it with
Within the firm, access is limited to those who need it. Outside, your data may be shared, depending on the matter, with courts, parties and their counsel, experts, or authorities where the law requires it. To run our tools (website hosting, email, work applications), we rely, like any firm, on recognised technical providers chosen among the references of their market. We do not exploit your data for commercial purposes and do not sell it to third parties for such purposes.
8. Where the data goes
Our data is mainly processed within the European Union. Some of our technical providers are established outside the EU: in that case, these transfers are governed by appropriate contractual commitments (in particular the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses) and by security measures in line with the state of the art.
9. How long we keep it
We keep your data for as long as necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, then for the periods required by law (limitation periods, accounting obligations, anti-money-laundering, professional rules). After that, it is deleted or archived.
10. Your rights
You have a right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability, as well as the right to set instructions on what happens to your data after your death. Where processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time. These rights are exercised within the limits of professional secrecy and our legal obligations. To exercise them: contact@squadra-avocats.com. You may also lodge a complaint with the CNIL (3 place de Fontenoy, TSA 80715, 75334 Paris Cedex 07).
11. Cookies and third-party content
When the site loads, no tracking cookie or advertising tracker is set. Our audience measurement is anonymous and cookieless.
The only third-party content (videos, registration forms) loads only after you click. Until you click, no connection is made to these services and no third-party tracker is set. By starting a video (hosted by YouTube) or displaying a form (hosted by a specialised provider), you load external content that may set its own cookies.
The map on the Contact page is a plain image; the “Directions” button is a link to a mapping service, opened only if you click.
12. Security
The site is protected by HTTPS encryption. We implement access-control and backup measures to protect your data.
