Squadra Avocats advised Mistral AI on the acquisition of the Austrian company Emmi AI.
Founded in 2024 in Linz, Emmi AI develops physics-based artificial-intelligence models capable of simulating complex engineering processes for industry. Its teams are joining Mistral AI, and Linz is becoming one of the group’s offices.
Mistral AI’s second acquisition, the deal is part of the group’s strategy towards European industrial companies and the strengthening of its applied-AI capabilities.
The Squadra Avocats team comprised François Lan and Camille Mirabel-Chambaud on the Corporate M&A aspects. Also involved in the transaction were Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe (Ben Cichostepski-Lesage), Jeantet (Karl Hepp de Sevelinges and Gabriel di Chiara), and the Austrian firms Dorda and Schoenherr.
