Graftys specialises in bio-resorbable bone cements for orthopaedic surgery. Building on research in biomaterials, it developed a new type of synthetic bone cement that can be easily injected into the bone being repaired. It is today one of the recognised players in the market, particularly in the United States.
In 2021, Graftys acquired Biologics 4 Life, another French medtech active in a related field, the development of injectable biomaterials combined with active ingredients to treat and prevent fractures caused by osteoporosis.
Due to a regulatory constraint now resolved, Graftys had to suspend sales for several months during 2023. Facing financing constraints in early 2024, the companies sought the opening of judicial reorganisation proceedings.
